Cafe Maruja: A Beachfront Cafe at Station 3 (Boracay)

I’m doing a Boracay Food Trip 2023 series this month. Check out the installments so far: Cha Cha’s Beach Cafe (Breakfast Buffet) | Chan’s Boracay | Cyma Greek Taverna | La Sirena by Cochi Loco | Los Indios Bravos | Percy Seafood | Sapphire at Henann Crystal Sands Resort (Seafood Buffet) | The Sunny Side Cafe

One of the popular things to do in Boracay is to chill by a beachside bar or cafe. Nothing beats a happy hour cocktail or an iced coffee. And one of our favorite places to hang out is Cafe Maruja.

Cafe Maruja

Cafe Maruja is a beachside cafe located in front of Casa Pilar Beach Resort at Station 3. They serve all-day brunch, such as souffle pancakes, toast and eggs, and Buddha Bowls or one-bowl vegan/vegetarian meals consisting of grains, plant-based proteins, and veggies. Of course, they also serve beverages, such as coffee-based drinks, mocktails, smoothies, and Freak Shakes, which are over-the-top milkshakes with a ton of toppings.

But more than the food, I think what attracts customers to Cafe Maruja is its layout, which is very Instagrammable. They have an airconditioned and al fresco areas.

Cafe Maruja is also a digital nomads’ paradise. They have sockets in the airconditioned area.

We visited in the evening and there is an acoustic set. I’m just not sure if there is a live set every night.

Now let’s talk about the food. Like its layout, Cafe Maruja’s food is plated beautifully. To whet our appetites, we ordered the Homemade Fries and Enoki Mushroom. We love the deep-fried, coated enoki mushrooms!

Then we tried one of their smoothie bowls. It’s cold, refreshing, and made me feel healthy. LOL. But I forgot what exactly we got.

We also got one of their toast and eggs, Turkish Eggs. I like the creamy, runny eggs and the tang that comes from the yogurt. It’s a good combination.

If you’re a staying at Cafe Maruja, you can also order dishes from Joe’s Boracay Restaurant Bar Lounge, which is the in-house restaurant of Casa Pilar. We got their Barbecue Pork Ribs, which is tender and covered in sweet and tangy barbecue sauce, and Casa Fried Chicken, which is crispy, juicy, tender, and Pinoy or Filipino-style.

Cafe Maruja has good food and a chill vibe. I can easily spend an hour or two there, especially while waiting for the sun set. So if you’re looking for a place to hang out, then I recommend Cafe Maruja to you.
