Mott 32: The Award-Winning Cantonese Restaurant from Hong Kong is Now in Cebu City (We Tried Their Dimsum Lunch)

Mott 32 is a multi-awarded Chinese (specifically Cantonese) restaurant in Hong Kong. It’s named after 32 Mott Street, where the first Chinese general store in New York opened. The Hong Kong branch opened in 2014, and now the restaurant has branches in Singapore, Dubai, and Las Vegas, among many others. It opened in Cebu back in 2022 at the NUSTAR Resort and Casino.

The Cebu branch has a stunning interior designed by Joyce Wang Studio. The design “pulls inspiration from the tropical surroundings honouring Filipino roots whilst marrying industrial New Yorker style and Chinese opulence.”

Mott 32 Cebu also has a nice view of the Cebu harbor, including the fairly new Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) bridge.

We’re not in the mood to splurge at the restaurant (or more accurately, we didn’t have the budget for a splurge LOL). So we went to try their Dimsum Lunch.

We first got their Traditional Iberico Pork Shanghainese Soup Dumplings (which is simply Xiao Long Bao). It has a thin wrapper and tasty soup.

Next we tried was the Shredded Peking Duck Spring Roll, which has a crisp wrapper, tasty duck filling, and crunchy cabbage.

Lastly, we ordered the Honey Glazed BBQ Iberico Pork Cheung Fun (steamed rice roll). The wrapper is handmade, which I like. It also has a sweet barbecue filling, with a strong five spice flavor.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t order more dimsum items because most include shrimp, which we’re allergic to.

Of course, we paired our dimsum lunch with tea.

Mott 32 is also known for serving cocktails. We got one but we forgot what it’s called. But we remember that it’s good. LOL.

Mott 32 Cebu should be included in your Cebu eat-inerary, especially if you’re looking to splurge your hard-earned money. Their dimsum items aren’t mind-blowing, but it’s properly prepared with fine ingredients. Let’s not forget the ambiance and the view of the Cebu harbor. I highly recommend Mott 32 Cebu to you!

P.S. Next time we visit, we hope to try the entrees. And we’ll make sure our wallets are ready! LOL.
